KokoBoloDesign started with a dream to bring the atmosphere of travel and world exploration into our modern homes and offices without disrupting the harmony of the interior. These unique wooden world maps are unlike any other decor elements and have been recognized worldwide.
The map turned out great on my office tiled wall, see attached pics.
Thanks for making such unique and well thought out product, and such high quality of workmanship.
We LOVE this map and get so many compliments on it. Shipping was seamless and the installation took about two hours being very careful. Very easy to install, even our 6 year old was helping. Very high quality map and we are thrilled with how it looks on our wall.
This is one of the coolest pieces of wall art I've ever purchased, and I am -extatic- with the final result...
For years I'd been browsing maps to put against a wall, without really being impressed. When I bought my new apartment recently I had another look, and came across Kokobolo. I ended up pulling the trigger on their largest size possible.
Shipping was smooth, however for some reason Swedish customs decided to open the package. This is odd, because it was shipped from within the EU, and I've -never- seen this happen before. Perhaps it would help in avoiding this in future to make it more clear what is inside the box? I briefly inspected the package and it seemed ok, but I didn't have time to mount the map until nearly 2 months later.
Last weekend, I finally got around to it. The way the package was put together was impressive, and shows how much personalized care was taken. Despite this, there were three minor points of damage; one each on three of the continental mounting plates (Greenland, Arabia, and Moscow). Since the package was opened and inspected by customs, I am inclined to put the blame with them (in the re-packing process) rather than with Kokobolo or the shipping process itself. In any case, the damage is so minor that it's practically invisible - and as a hobbyist I will simply paint over the visible damage on the southern tip of Greenland.
Mounting instructions were incredibly clear, and there was abundant double-sided tape included to use it liberally. The cardboard mounting indicators to tape on the wall help tremendously, and make the process super easy. My father and sister were around to help, and we had a -blast- putting it up. It was a SUPER fun shared family activity, like building a puzzle, and we had zero struggles whatsoever.
I did not add any of the additional decorations on the wall - preferring a more minimalist look, and I think it looks incredibly good on my wall. I could not be happier!
If I were to point out any negatives/feedback at all (which absolutely do NOT detract from my experience), then they'd be the following:
- The map I got was 3x1.75m, but it does not say where the 1.75m height begins. You put cardboard up against the wall near the top in order to begin fitting the pieces in the cut-outs, but it is unclear whether the 1.75m height was counting the cardboard also, or simply from lowest-to-highest piece. We discovered that it was the latter, and the entire map ended up hanging ~10-15cm lower than planned. Luckily, this turns out to look far superior to my initial intention, so I am happy!
- Antarctica is located far too high on the original instructions. I therefore lowered mine by ~15cm to be in a more accurate location. It would be nice if the instructions offered both possibilities, depending on your space restrictions. I am also confused by the shape - the most recognizeable feature (Graham Land - the huge peninsula almost directly south of South America) is simply not included.
- Taiwan is in the wrong location (too far south and too close to the Philippines - or perhaps it's the Philippines that are too large), and I was slightly disappointed that Java is connected as one whole to all the islands east of it. I understand that there's too many to represent individually, but I'd have liked Java to be its own island, and the rest to be represented as one of the "archipelago" pieces. I also missed the Moluccas, just east of Sulawesi, and the Malaysian side of Borneo does not have mainland Malaysia's color (but rather shares Indonesia's).
- I understand there are far too many islands dotted around everywhere to represent all of them, but I -really- would have liked the Galapagos to be included, considering how popular it is. Cape Verde also, perhaps.
- The Maldives look like a 'sword' with the way the name is placed (which looks like the 'hilt'). I simply -cannot- unsee this, and everyone I've shown the map to has said the same. I wish it would look less like a sword, by changing the precise location of the name perhaps?
- I would have liked a cardboard piece to indicate the distance of the Strait of Gibraltar. As it is, you have to kind of "guess", and Africa is unique in all continental pieces in that it only shares a ~2cm border with Arabia, which does not give you much to base your 'fit' on. Having cardboard in the opposite corner of North Africa would make it easier!
- The print is the same on every size of the map you buy. It is not a huge issue to me, but it'd been cool to see additional detail depending on the size. There are some countries that, on the largest size, are big enough that a few extra major cities could have easily been included. Sweden/Finland are two such examples - and if the font size was reduced slightly (it's not needed to scale along with the rest of the map) then perhaps some cities in the Low Countries could also be included. If this is ever added I might seriously considering buying a replacement!!
None of these even -slightly- reduce my joy of this new art-piece on my wall. It has already proven to be the centerpiece of my living/dining room, and is a huge conversation starter with every single visitor who comes by.
Don't hesitate. Treat yourself to the single best art-piece you'll ever buy for your living room.
Absolutely loved putting this together, once first stencils were taped in place, I found the whole process calming.
I did need the Ipad several times to look at where sone islands sat off.
Some were nice and easy because of their shape.
Every person that has seen it Absolutely love it and I expect your sales will go up.
Would Absolutely recommend 👌
A beautiful, high-quality map that looks amazing once installed. The main installation was straightforward, but clearer instructions for the smaller islands and ocean labels would have made the process much easier. The YouTube installation video was very helpful, and I also got a little help from ChatGPT to position the final pieces. Overall, I’m very happy with the finished result and would definitely recommend it
Well packaged, straightforward to install, looks stunning! Only very slight downside was the black edge paint was coming off onto my fingers which meant I had to keep wiping my hands to prevent the black marks transferring to the map and wall. Just a minor detail worth being aware of, but worth the fiddle for such a lovely final result.
Beautiful map. Takes about six hours like described. I could not find good instructions to watch but the template sets you up pretty good.
Did not appreciate getting a bill from FedEx for tariffs.
I loved the map, it's amazing! It was packed really well, arrived fast, and without a scratch. Just two things to note: the colors aren't as contrasting as in the pictures, but that was fine with me anyway. Second, the names of Belarusian cities were transliterated from Russian, not Belarusian. This was upsetting. Anyway, I couldn't give it less than 5 stars!
Vielen lieben Dank
The map is beautiful, well made and is hanging proudly in our office. WE have bought another one for our US office. Bit of a mission to get it up but once you get the hang of the templates it isn't difficult.
Love the product.
Was fun to put up and not difficult at all.
However be aware that you will have to pay an additional import tax. We were not expecting this and have had to pay £62 so allow for this extra charge. That said I would still purchase again.
This 3D wall map is absolutely amazing! My son is a huge geography buff and he is thrilled with the way it came out. Start-to-finish, it probably took us less than 2 hours to get the pieces punched out and up on the wall. The quality of the materials are very nice and looks very high-end on the wall. We tried a few other options ordered off of Amazon, and this is by far a better product. I would absolutely buy this product again and highly recommend to anyone.
Fantastic map and really enjoyed doing it as a family, the only issue I have is that I think I have put it on the wall a bit low but don’t want to break it moving it, also I don’t have the stencils now. The product itself though it’s absolute class and would definitely recommend to others.
Thank you
Regards Vikki Shacklock
I am enjoying my world map. The quality is A+
The install is easy to follow. This is not project that can be put together in 45min to an hour. Expect a few to several hours to piece together.
Absolutely worth the purchase 😃
Love it!! I did create my own back board for it. Was better quality than what I was expecting and fun trying to work out what peice goes where without cheating. I hope to be enjoying this for many years to come. Thank you Kobo!
Love this map! It completes my wall between my bookshelves. I can’t wait for my kids to start learning geography in school because they can easily refer to the world map at home when they’re learning about the world.
Absolutely brilliant product, great quality and perfect for my wall.
I ordered it without labels though which I think made it harder to put together. I think some temporary labels on some of the big pieces would've gone a long way.
The instructions should also be a lot better. The image in the instructions was great, but just print it bigger and less blurry and I would've been a lot better off!
Beautiful map - I love it! It was fun to put together and I got the markers so that we could show all of the places that we have been. High quality wood with high quality printing on it. Makes our room perfect!
Beautiful map with great detail. Kids love it. Simple to install. Specific request for Rustic map on Blue background. Arrived as requested and on time. Highly recommend.
I love how it looks. It was easy to install despite being complicated. Although it got stuck in customs and now they are charging me an import tax. I’m not sure if it’s my responsibility to pay it. It was never mentioned during purchasing that I’d have to add that cost.
This cartography wizard, tech nerd, and total people magnet is the ultimate multi-talented legend! When he’s not hand-drawing insanely gorgeous world maps, he’s busy geeking out over the latest gadgets and winning clients over with pure charm.

I am over the moon with this wooden map! The craftsmanship is absolutely outstanding — the intricate detailing, crisp cutouts, and beautifully layered sections create a striking 3D effect that you can’t help but stare at. The different levels give it depth, movement, and a sense of artistry that feels truly special. It completely transformed my entryway, making it look elevated, elegant, and full of personality. Every time I walk past it, I smile. I genuinely IN LOVE with this piece.

Absolutely over the moon with my map. Once it was measured up for initial templates, I found the whole process very therapeutic.

Hands down one of the best things I've ever bought online. The photos you'd see online are impressive, but they don't do it justice — wait until it's on your wall. The quality is superb, the detail is extraordinary, and it completely transformed the feel of the entire room. Absolutely fantastic work!

This map is awesome, I totally love it! The packaging was very good, everything arrived without a scratch. Delivery was super fast, only took about two weeks and it took me longer to get the wall ready and set up the map, but the end result is so satisfying! Just a couple of things to mention: the colors are a bit less contrasting than in the picture, but they still work for me. Also, I wish the Belarusian city names were transliterated from Belarusian, not Russian, like they are now. That was upsetting, I only noticed it when the map got here. But honestly, I couldn't give it less than 5 stars because everything else is just perfect.
